Daniel Gorovets, MD
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
I am a radiation oncologist who specializes in treating genitourinary cancers, including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, and testicular cancer. I also care for people with brain tumors, lung cancer, and head and neck cancers. I see patients at both Memorial Hospital in Manhattan and MSK Basking Ridge in New Jersey.
I understand that receiving a cancer diagnosis can be scary and overwhelming. When I meet with patients and their families, I take as much time as needed to clearly explain their condition and all the treatment options available. I work closely with my colleagues in surgery, medical oncology, pathology, and radiology. We identify the best treatment approach for each individual person we care for.
I have expertise in using advanced radiation techniques. These include intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy. These special radiotherapy approaches allow for effective and precise cancer treatments that can protect my patients’ healthy tissue from unnecessary radiation exposure.
My primary research interests involve developing better ways to personalize radiation therapy for people with genitourinary cancers. I aim to do this by integrating various clinical factors, imaging features, and biomarkers. I also enroll patients in clinical trials with the hope of discovering safer, more-effective methods of treating cancer.
