H. Joseph Barthold II, MD is board certified in Radiation Oncology and is a Fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (FASTRO) and has extensive experience in prostate cancer management with external beam and seed implants. He has managed over 2500 prostate cancer patients over the course of his career.
He graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his internship at Portsmouth Naval Regional Medical Center in Virginia. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology and was Chief Resident at Hahnemann University as well as an American Cancer Society Clinical Fellow. Dr. Barthold has practiced radiation oncology in the U.S. Navy, was Chief of Radiation Oncology and Director of the Louis Busch Hager Cancer Center at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York. He also held teaching appointments at Eastern Virginia Medical School (Norfolk, Virginia), the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University (New York, New York) and Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA).
