Kunal Saigal, MD
Kunal Saigal, MD is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the treatment of cancers of the genitourinary and gynecologic systems. Following completion of his residency at the University of Miami, Dr. Saigal pursued further expertise in interventional radiation oncology by completing a brachytherapy fellowship at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Cancer and Roosevelt Hospitals in New York. In his current position at Florida Hospital, Dr. Saigal co-leads a high volume multi-disciplinary genitourinary program. Dr. Saigal often incorporates the use of SpaceOAR hydrogel to reduce the risk of rectal toxicity in patients receiving both external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer. His primary research interest includes incorporation of MRI imaging to improve the efficacy and toxicity of high-dose-rate prostate brachytherapy. The integration of MRI imaging allows placement for placement of SpaceOAR hydrogel at the time of the brachytherapy procedure, thereby preventing the need for patients to undergo an additional procedure.
