Lawrence Karsh, MD, FACS
Lawrence Karsh, M.D., has practiced general urology and urologic surgery in Denver for many years. At TUCC, he is the director of our Clinical Research Department. Prior to the merger that formed TUCC, Dr. Karsh practiced with Western Urologic Associates. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Denver Academy of Surgery, the American Urological Association and the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network. Dr. Karsh is also an elected member of the Society of Urologic Oncology and is an editorial board member of OncologyLive Urologists in Cancer Care.
As director of the TUCC Clinical Research Department, Dr. Karsh has served as the principal investigator of more than 200 clinical trials. He is a current member of the Society of Urologic Oncology Clinical Trials Consortium board of directors and bladder cancer sub-committee. In addition, Dr. Karsh is an associate clinical professor of surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He also sits on many advisory boards for new drug development and lectures at scientific meetings throughout the country, including the American Urological Association’s Annual Meeting.
Dr. Karsh received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado. He earned his medical doctorate at the Chicago Medical School and then completed his general surgical training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Karsh completed his residency training in urologic surgery at Harvard Medical School at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
In his spare time, Dr. Karsh is an avid road biker in the summer and skier in the winter. He is also fluent in Spanish.
