Matthew Biagioli, MD
Dr. Biagioli is the Departmental Chair and medical director of Radiation Oncology for Florida Hospital’s 15 Radiation Departments as well as an Associate Professor in the College of Medicine at University of Central Florida. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Miami and then subsequently a Brachytherapy/Interventional Radiation Oncology fellowship at the now Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Biagioli career is focused on the treatment of Genitourinary and Gynecological cancers. He is editor of three text books and has authored of over 20 text book chapters and over 50 peer reviewed journal articles. He is the former associate editor for Cancer Control Journal and remains a section editor for the Brazilian Journal of Urology. Additionally, he is a former author and panel member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) genitourinary guidelines and remains and active member of the American Radium Society/American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria Committee for Gynecological Cancers. Dr. Biagioli has been involved with the investigation and clinical use of hydrogel spacers (including SpaceOAR), in the treatment of prostate cancer, for nearly a decade. His current research include Radiomics as a predictor of oncological outcomes, MRI guided prostate brachytherapy, and population based oncological care cost accounting.
