Manuel’s SpaceOAR™ Hydrogel story

In 2018 during an annual physical, Manuel’s primary care physician discovered he had a high prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level. After undergoing a prostate biopsy, Manuel was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer.

Manuel and his medical team opted for radiation therapy to treat his prostate cancer. They also chose SpaceOAR Hydrogel, a pre-treatment option, that has been shown to help minimize the side effects that may occur as a result of radiation therapy.1–3

Radiation therapy uses high-powered energy to target cancer cells and may be delivered in multiple ways including external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy (internal radiation).4 SpaceOAR Hydrogel is designed to be used with radiation therapy.
