Dr. Beat is the Medical Director at Arch Cancer Care and leads a team of skilled healthcare professionals specializing in the treatment of prostate cancer. He personally meets with each man newly diagnosed with a urological cancer and thoroughly evaluates their overall health status. After carefully reviewing the prostate cancer pathology and determining the biological behavior of the tumor, thoughtful consideration of the available treatment options are discussed with each individual and his family. A personalized course of therapy is proposed and planned.

Dr. Beat’s informative and educational approach to cancer care provides patients with knowledge and confidence. Given the subtle intricacies of prostate cancer management, “proactive surveillance” or curative treatment is optimized by a multimodality approach. Engagement of and access to a Collaborative Care Network provides another level of support for Arch Cancer Care patients. Careful attention is directed to minimizing side effects, preserving sexual function, maintaining physical activity and health, and promoting positive lifestyle changes.

Dr. Beat trained at Tulane University and Washington University / Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. While serving in the U.S. Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center, LTC Beat spearheaded the implementation of new technologies to enhance the management and treatment of the high volume of prostate cancer patients in the retired military population. He also contributed to the Department of Defense Center for Prostate Disease Research and has participated in a number of prostate cancer specific clinical research protocols. As a board certified radiation oncologist, he serves as a national committee member to assist with the design and review of prostate cancer treatment pathways for the US Oncology Value Pathways Powered by NCCN. He and his practice are strong supporters of ZERO, an organization dedicated to public education and the advocacy to end prostate cancer.

It takes the detailed attention of experienced prostate health experts, a disciplined support team, sophisticated technology, and a unified network of providers to successfully tackle the complexities of prostate cancer management. Dr. Beat and Arch Cancer Care have created an environment that specializes in that challenge
